1. Workshop Space (a.k.a. XinCheJian area)

• Workshop space is divided into 21 time slots (morning, afternoon and evening).
• Morning = 9:00 - 13:00 (?)
• Afternoon = 13:00 - 18:00 (?)
• Evening = 18:00 - late

Primary Usage (“Xinchejian Time”)

XinCheJian has Primary Use during these 11 slots:

• M T W R F - Evening (5)
• Sa Su - Morning, Afternoon, Evening (6)

Flexible Usage (“Flexible Time”)

Xinchejian has Flexible Use during these 10 slots:

• M T W R F - Morning, Afternoon (10)

Workshop Access by Other Groups During “Flexible Time”

• Xinchejian Members still have priority for using the space
• Good2China and Transi.st are able to use the space (first come, first served basis)
• Sub-leasing parties are not allowed to use the space
• Usage does not cover usage of tools or office supplies (which must be paid for)

Booking the Workshop Space During “Flexible Time”

• Booking the space has a cost (xxxx RMB / hour)
• There is no such thing as “tentative” booking of the space.

2. Workshop Space Access for Xinchejian Members

• XinCheJian Members are always free to access the Workshop Space.
• XinCheJian Members always have priority for using the Workshop Space.

3. Office Area

• XinCheJian members get 5 permanent tables and chairs
• Tables should have access to power

4. Central Meeting Room and Lounge Areas

The central meeting room and lounge areas are available for booking from Resonance.

If XinCheJian wants to book (schedule) the central area, the costs are:

• 100 RMB / hour for the room
• 50 RMB for projector usage

If the Central Meeting Room is not booked:

• Resonance has priority for usage
• However, XinCheJian (and others) are free to use it.

5. Machine Room

• The machine room is exclusive to XinCheJian.
• It can only be used when a qualified XinCheJian member is present.

To be a Xinchejian Member:

• 1000 RMB / Year

To be a Qualified Xinchejian Machine Room User:

• 500 RMB / Year

6. Workshop Space Usage Rules

Surveillance Equipment

• Cameras and audio recording equipment are on
• Cameras are used to document usage / abuse of the space
• Cameras and must not be interfered with

Clean Up

• Users of the Workshop Space must clean up after themselves
• Users must turn off the lights and fans in the area if they are the last person

Usage of XinCheJian Materials

• Non-Xinchejian Members: All office supplies (Pens / paper / tape / printers / solder and computers) are not to be used.
• Xinchejian Members: Office supplies must be paid for or replaced (tape, scissors, etc. )

Noise Level

• XinCheJian Workshop Space is a quiet area
• Long open phone conversations are not allowed
• Do not disturb other people in the space

Violations of Rules

• Violation will lead to revoking access
• Xinchejian Staff members have sole discretion in determining violations of rules

7. Small Meeting Room Usage

• Similar usage pattern to Xinchejian Workshop Area

8. Shelf Space Allocations

There are three areas: 1. Closed Boxes, 2. Open Boxes, 3. Open Hallway

1. Closed Boxes

• Xinchejian has rights to 3 columns of Closed Boxes (central rows)

2. Open Boxes

• Xinchejian has rights to right 5 columns of Open Boxes
• Good2China has rights to left 4 columns of Open Boxes
• This is due to storage of certain public goods, like chairs

3. Open Hallway

• Xinchejian has rights to all of the open boxes that form the hallway (East side / Transis.st)

9. Events and Common Calendar

Principles

• Xinchejian, Good2China and Transi.st agree to try to be as considerate as possible to each other
• Move towards the establishment of a common calendar
• Each group should give early warning for events that are disruptive to each other

Event Types

• Standard - < 21 people. Does not disturb other groups in the space.
• Minorly Disruptive - < 42 people. Noise and traffic affects other groups. Not suitable for quiet workers in other areas.
• Majorly Disruptive - > 42 people. Noise and traffic strongly disrupts usage of the space by other groups.

Event Notifications

• Standard events do not require any acknowledgement by other groups.
• All Minorly Disruptive events should also be communicated to other groups as early as possible. Other groups should send their acknowledgement of the event by email.
• All Majorly Disruptive events should be communicated to other groups as early as possible. Other groups must send their agreement to the event by email.

10. Agreement Modifications

• XinCheJian reserves the right to modify this agreement
• This agreement should be agreed upon by all parties
