This is a list of Xinchejian's previous staff members. We greatly appreciate their support, and we wish they were still here.


Past Staff Members 2015

  1. Jia-Qi (佳琪): a "nose" for a fragrance company, Jia-Qi brings style and elegance to the space. She's a long time participant to XinCheJian social events but she's now discovered a passion about urban farming. She takes to heart the participation from our Chinese members and is looking forward to helping increase the quality of our talks and events.



Past Staff Members 2014

  1. Min Lin Hsieh (谢旻琳): Min Lin is one of the co-founder when XinCheJian was officially launched on March 26th 2011 at the Anhua road location. She volunteered one year full-time taking care most of operational aspects of the hackerspace. Most events planning, marketing, financial management and purchasing go through Min Lin. She's also been involved in the corporate workshop issues. Min Lin is currently looking for business development, technical Chinese<->French/English interpretation contracts, purchasing contracts, opportunities for corporate events and learning innovations.
  2. Ricky Ng-Adam (伍思力): Ricky is one of the co-founder when XinCheJian was officially launched on March 26th 2011 at the Anhua road location. He's currently working on his own hardware startup spawned from XinCheJian (lophilo.com) and looking for all the things entrepreneurs look for: customers, partners and investors.
  3. Ziyun Peng (Clemence): a musician, Ziyun worked in the space on her project and help with a variety of events and translation. She's now left to go do a masters at the famous CMU.
  4. Michael Liao: without Michael, there would be no machine room as there would be no machines! Our resident mechanical engineer, he's been very generous in getting the space started and organized. A VC by day, Michael travels the world for business.
  5. Rockets: Rockets became a marketing director for dfrobot.com, a local Shanghai robotics company that has contributed a lot to the XinCheJian Hackerspace. Rockets is an ham radio enthusiasm and is very excited by all the cool XinCheJian projects.
  6. He Qi Chen: a Chinese university student of Quadcopter fame, He Qi Chen helped with many workshops and is also one of the developers behind ardublock.com.
  7. Jonathan Kalin: our first XinCheJian intern, Jonathan was a student from America who brought a lot of enthusiasm to the space. He was key in organizing and helping with various events.
  8. Stephany Xu: our photogenic 3d printer lead, Stephany works as a project manager for a large shoe company in China. She's a world traveler that regularly grace of her presence the staff meetings. She's responsible for the lamp shades in the space and her 3d printing abilities are always popular in our events.
  9. Sophia Lin (林哲水): Art curator as a background, Sophia pays more attention to the creative projects that are being developed in the space. She is currently directing the Make+ Art & Technology program in XinCheJian.
  10. Jimmy Keesee: American entrepreneur, he also speaks fluent Spanish!
  11. Valentin Gauffre (高华论): a French interaction designer (oouhlala!) currently building the future of the Internet of Things in China, Valentin originally joined the space to work on his interactive glasses but has become interested in all aspects of the space. From electronics to hardware tools, he is a multi-talented maker.
